Superbad Review

Sunday afternoon I finally got to see Superbad, which I've been looking forward to all summer pretty much. And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint.

The basic plot of the movie is standard fare, really. Three high school buddies are out for their last weeks of school and need to get alcohol for a party. They, of course, run into all sorts of crazy adventures: from an unforgettable dance with an older woman by Seth (played by Jonah Hill, who for some reason, I thought resembled me in attitude and look), to a crazy night of antics with two crazy cops by McLovin (played by the great Christopher Mintz-Plasse).

Now, one thing you HAVE to realize going in is...well, how do I put this...be careful with the g/fs. Some ladies might find MOST, if not of the humor, mildly offensive. Mine didn't, but I could imagine some high-and-mighty ones very well might.

Having read some reviews, I think most of the complaints came from the fact that the movie didn't have as much "heart" as "Knocked Up". But, in my opinion, this is what makes the movie great. It's not trying to be something it's not. It's a buddy comedy full of expletives that never really disappoints. B+
